DONATION CAMPAIGN All Students In the months of November and December we are holding a Donation Campaign for the Spartan Orchestra program! 100% of the donation goes towards the experiences, equipment, and active growth of the orchestra program. In lieu of a traditional door-to-door fundraiser or charging admission for concerts, we kindly request that each family participates in the campaign. This year in particular, we are raising money to replace the broken stand racks, broken tuners, and add instrument storage for the growing population of orchestra students. You can send a donation at any time with your child using this form: https://www.sljhorchestras.org/uploads/8/6/1/1/86119594/donation_form.pdf Alternatively, we will have this form printed during the upcoming December performances. WRAP PARTY Performing Orchestras The Performing Orchestras are invited to the Annual Orchestra Wrap Party on Tuesday December 7th! (Please note that this is a change from the original date of 12/8.) We will be teaching how to safely decorate instruments for the Caroling Ensemble Concert. Students will bring a bag labeled with their name to the orchestra room with wrapping paper, scissors, tape, and any optional bows/ribbon/tinsel/etc. A permission form will be sent home as the event date approaches. 5TH GRADE TOUR Chamber Orchestra The Chamber Orchestra will be performing at three elementary schools for the 5th grade students on Wednesday December 8th during the school day. This will be an excused absence for the students, however they are responsible for any missed work for their other classes. Please see the itinerary below for details.

2nd 6 WeeksPRACTICE PLANNERS
Homework grades (Other Grades) for orchestra are for the students to practice at home and complete their Practice Planner for the week. Parents, please note the following details regarding the Planners:
UNIFORM UPDATE We have been in touch with the vendors for the orchestra spirit shirts and the formal uniforms for performing orchestras regarding the SLJH orders. At this time, the vendors have both expressed that the SLJH orders are delayed due to delayed shipment quantities on their end. While both companies have reassured us that they are shipping orders as fast as they get items in, we do not have an official date for these items. Currently, the Fall Concert is designated as Formal Uniform. If a change is necessary because of the timing of these shipments, we will email parents about how that change will look. ALL-REGION ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS - OCTOBER 16th Students signed up for the All-Region Orchestra Auditions must attend the final events in preparation for the audition:
Results will be available by the end of the day, via QR code. Students should be prepared to be picked up promptly after their room has concluded the audition. * SLJH will need 3 parent volunteers as room monitors. Details about these positions will be emailed at a later date. * FALL CONCERT - OCTOBER 19th The Fall Concert will be located at the Seven Lakes High School Performing Arts Center. Students should dress in informal attire. Itinerary
The concert is a double major grade: performance and audience participation. Students are required to stay for the entire concert as an audience member. If you are unable to be at the concert, we kindly request that you are prompt in picking up your child at 8 pm. Volunteer Opportunity: We are in need of volunteers for the concert! We are looking for one adult per orchestra. The volunteer would take attendance, remain with the group during the other performances, lead the group to the stage for their performance, and monitor student behavior. During your child's performance you would have a reserved seat in the front row.
